About Frontier Merc

Frontier Merc is a small shop for people who camp on public land — dispersed sites on BLM and National Forest ground, away from the reservation loop.

We sell practical digital guides first: checklists, starter packs, and packing lists that help you follow the rules, choose a durable site, and leave no trace. Light identity merch may come later. That is it.

We do not sell secret spot lists or GPS dumps. Rules change by district, season, and fire condition — so we teach methods: how to read free maps and apps, what to ask a ranger or BLM office, and how to decide when not to light a fire or stay another night.

Public land is shared. We want more people to use it carefully.

What we believe

  • Verify locally. Stay limits, road closures, and fire bans exist for a reason — confirm with the local office for the area you are visiting.
  • Clarity over folklore. A verified phone call beats a viral pin on a map.
  • Leave No Trace. Pack out what you pack in. Camp on already-used ground when you can.
  • Modern frontier, without hype. Useful language. Minimal branding. No cosplay.

Who this is for

Weekend travelers, truck and van campers, and anyone shifting from campgrounds to dispersed camping who wants a clean, legal first night out — and the ones after that.

Support

Questions about a guide or order? Use the store contact form. For land rules, always confirm with the local ranger district or BLM field office — we cannot replace them.

Educational note

Our guides are educational and general. They are not legal advice. Stay limits, vehicle restrictions, fire rules, and closures vary and change. Always verify with official sources before you camp.
